WHAT IS THE WAR FORMAT?
The W.A.R format is a team based competition. Eight community personalities have selected to be “Regents/Kings/Queens” who will draft a faction and teams of players from the participant pool. ALL participants will be drafted onto a team. Teams will build decks together to compete in a round robin (every team plays every other team) Swiss on Day 1 (October 20th). On Day 2 (October 21st) the top players will compete in a single elimination top cut to decide the individual Thronestoberfest champions. The wins from both Day 1 and Day 2 will decide what team wins the overall Thronestoberfest team championship.
Further rules will be announced as we get closer to the event and the team draft!
For attending the event all players will receive a limited edition “A Noble Cause” themed around a Game of Thrones inflected version of John Trumbull’s classic painting “Declaration of Independence” and Thronestoberfest theme house cards. The winning team will also receive unique prizes and as will the individual champion. More will be announced once we get close to the event!
As a side event (to encourage people to stick around!) we will also be hosting a separate Thronestoberfest melee championship on Sunday, 21st co-current with the top cut for the team event. This melee championship will have its own, separate prize support – include Thronestoberfest themed title cards.
WHAT IS THE COST?
$30 that must be paid in advance via the Redcap’s website or on the day before beginning of play.

WHY VISIT PHILADELPHIA?
Philly is centrally located in the mid-Atlantic, about a two hour drive from Washington DC and New York City. It is a very tourist friendly city with fun historical sites, art museums, and other family friendly activities! Philly also has one of the great food scenes of the east coast and is a great place to eat, drink, and be merry. Making a weekend of it for the tournament is a great idea if you live a bit of a drive away.
